Perth psychedelic rockers Tame Impala have today released  ‘Apocalpypse Dreams’ as a free download track from their highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Lonerism’

The album’s first single Elephant will premiere later in July, but you can hear (and download) album track Apocalypse Dreams here.

‘Lonerism’, will be the band’s followup to 2010′s 4 x ARIA nominated debut ‘Innerspeaker’.

Of the new album frontman Kevin Parker recently said the next batch of songs:  ”Represents a departure from his previous work by incorporating an expanded sonic palette, more emotional song writing, and a more pronounced narrative perspective.”

On 2 March 2012, they stated via Facebook that the new album was “finished, mixed, mastered, mooged, broinged, and beeped”. The album, set to be released in October 2012 was created by a similar set up as the debut album, being that Kevin Parker wrote and recorded the great majority of the album by himself at his home in Perth with the remainder taking place in France, and as a result, one of the tracks is titled, Un, Deux, Trois.
