Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke said: “This song was one of the last songs that we wrote [for the new album]… We knew we had something so we kept beavering away and, before we knew it, we had it.”

He added that he was looking forward to touring the record with the band, but acknowledged the fact that a hectic schedule had caused problems in the past. He said: “I’m looking forward to performing this record because I’m very proud of it,” but added that there was “some trepidation when I look at my schedule and it’s already booked up until summer next year!”

Bloc Party arrive in Australia at the end of the month for one appearance only at Splendour In The Grass.

Kele also explained that the band are currently filming a documentary. Although he wasn’t giving away any more details he did say to “watch this space”.

‘Four’ is the follow up to 2008′s ‘Intimacy’ and will be released on August 20. It has been produced by Death Cab For Cutie/The Mars Volta producer Alex Newport.
