Rock veterans, Motorhead have launched their own lager, which is aptly named ‘Bastards Lager’
A message on the bands website reads: “Motörhead Bastards Lager is a beer with a lot of attitude -– making it the perfect thirst-quencher at the summer’s festivals or on the beach with a Motörhead track coming through your headphones at high volume, a recommendation is to drink Bastards Lager well-chilled together with juicy, freshly-grilled burgers on a summer’s evening.
The beer is being brewed by Swedish brewery Krönleins and can be ordered by the whole case from Systembolaget, the Swedish state liquor shop. You can find more details about the lager at Brandsforfans.se/Motorheaddrinks.
The band’s drummer Mikkey Dee spoke highly of the trio’s latest boozy offering offering: “You’re never too old for rock ‘n’ roll and good chilled beer – If you think you’re too old for rock ’n’ roll and to drink beer then you probably are. Pity, but that means all the more beer for us, that always works well together!”
‘Bastards Lager’ is the band’s second alcohol-based launch of the last year, after they announced in 2011 that they would be selling their own brand of red wine, named ‘Motorhead Shiraz’ which has gone on to sell over a quarter of a million bottles – 6 times platinum in musical terms!!
Motorhead aren’t the only band to launch their own brand of red wine, with Slayer and AC/DC both bringing out their own ranges in recent months. Slayer’s is fittingly called ‘Reign In Blood’ and is a Cabernet Sauvignon from California, while AC/DC have four.
Those vintages are also fittingly named as ‘Highway To Hell’ which is a Cabernet Sauvignon, ‘Hells Bells’, which is a Sauvignon Blanc, ‘Back In Black’, which is a Shiraz and finally there is ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’, which is a Moscato.
