Last night, Sydney indie-rock powerhouse Dappled Cities launched their fourth album ‘Lake Air’ with a celebratory jam at Camperdown’s Deus Café.

The night’s musical guests included Bluejuice, Washington, Catcall and Palms; all of whom explored and interpreted songs from Dappled Cities’ new album in the form of live cover renditions. Dappled Cities topped off the night with an ecstatic performance of singles, “Run With The Wind” and “Born At The Right Time”.

Megan Washington kicked off the night with a piano rendition of “Waves”. DIY kings Palms turned up the volume with a grungy re-imagining of “The Leopard”. The always distinctive Bluejuice took the stage with their interpretation of title track “Lake Air”, followed by Catcall with her take on “Love Connection”.

Dappled Cities saved the best for last; making use of Deus’ amplified audio with a distinctively energetic performance – including brand new single, “Born At The Right Time”. The short-but-sweet set left every person in the packed-out Inner West space more excited than ever to hear the new material in its full recorded glory.

The night was hosted by ‘Lake Air’ co-producer, Jarrad Kritzstein, whom chimed in live from LA via Skype. The event was captured by Channel V and Sydney’s FBI for broadcast in the near future.

‘Lake Air’ is released on 3rd August on HUB The Label / Inertia.
