The singer who released his third album, ‘Making Mirrors’ last year, warns that fans may have to wait several years for new recordings.
He admitted: “It takes me a long time to make Gotye records. This one (Making Mirrors) took two and a half years. There’s lots of experimenting and playing with sounds and production techniques.”
Despite his current success, Gotye has said:
“I don’t have a follow up to’ Making Mirrors’, and probably won’t do another record for another two or three years.”
He also mentions that his recent success feels like a win for independent music, but adds that “I don’t think the song would have happened without a really great label.”
Gotye has recieved plenty of Celebrity backing after the success of his recent single, with Gary Barlow, Lily Allen, Ashton Kutcher and Katy Perry all taking to twitter in admiration of the singer.
He finished the interview by teasing that he likes “a lot of Katy Perry’s tracks… it would be weird and interesting if I collaborated with an artist like that.”
