Bob Dylan and Jack White are among the artists to contribute to The Lost Notes Of Hank Williams a new collection of previously unheard songs by country music legend Hank Williams.

The album which is to be released on October 4,  features 12 songs that were rescued from notebooks left behind in a leather briefcase by Williams after he died in 1953 at the age of 29.

Rolling Stone reports: The notes contained lyrics and song ideas that were finished by the 13 contemporary artists who contributed to the disc.

The project was originally concieved as a Bob Dylan solo album but eventually evolved into a multi-artist tribute to the late singer.
